The Minister of National Development Planning Reviewed Biomedical Products developed by ITB and UNPAD

BN – The Minister of National Development Planning, Suharso Monoarfa, on Friday, February 26, 2021, reviewed biomedical products such as ventilators, PCR test kits for cooperation between ITB and Unpad, which have obtained the distribution rights. This is part of a series of visits by the Minister during his visit to Bandung.

The first product that the Minister saw was AutoMager, a nucleic acid extraction instrument. This tool is produced by PT GTI Merah Putih with the following features: (1) High throughput; (2) High extraction rate; (3) High extraction quality; (4) Easy operation by touch screen; (5) Made in Indonesia with quality support.

The second and third innovation products are MagEx and Expad, both function as RNA extraction kits for Covid PCR examinations.

The fourth product, is C-Transport, is an iceless transport system. This product is a storage medium for the resulting swab sauce that can be used to collect, carry and store virus samples for diagnostic purposes.

The fifth innovation product is i-blue, is the iceless transport system. It is an innovative product of Unpad to overcome the limitations of Covid-19 examination, a medium for storage and transportation of swab samples for diagnostic purposes and to help overcome the limitations of swab sample storage and transportation.

The advantages of i-blue are that the sample quality is maintained for at least 7 days at room temperature, sample transportation without icebox, reaching samples in health facilities that are far from the PCR examining lab, sample management is safer and is a local product.

The sixth product of innovation is Vitpad, is iceless transport system, iceless viral medium transport. The advantages of this product are storage and transportation of virus samples without a cool box, maintaining sample quality for up to 2 weeks at room temperature, transporting samples without ice boxes, reaching samples in health facilities far from the PCR examining lab. This tool also has the advantage of safer sample management.

The seventh product of innovation is Salipad. This product has the advantage of storing and transporting virus samples without a coolbox, maintaining sample quality for up to 2 weeks at room temperature. Transport samples without icebox and reach samples in health facilities that are far from the PCR examining lab.

Another advantage of the Salipad is Less infectious sample management is safer and Easy to use sampling using saliva (saliva).

The problems of storing and transporting virus samples in Indonesia lie in: (1) Vtm sample storage at 2-8 degrees Celsius, a lack of a refrigerator, bulky and heavy packages, the sample is damaged if it is not cold. (2) the infectious nature of the sample, which demands layered protection with an ice box, is a challenge in bio safety; (3) Limited number, PCR machine, BSC class 2, storage; and (4) The distance between the health facilities and the examining lab.

Therefore, this product is designed to solve these problems. with product characteristics Easy to use with saliva collection, safer in collecting and transporting virus samples, storing and transporting virus samples without the need for an ice box. ( red )
